It even picked up larger twigs left over by the neighbours after they did some tree removal. I was, however, frustrated in the assembly. It seems that one of the holes the should have been punched through the handle tubes was not done, and the part slipped past quality control. I was able to drill through the metal (with considerable effort as I don't have the best tools for that kind of work) and complete the assembly. Still, it was definitely a blemish on the experience. Still, barring this problem, I would recommend the item.

Rated 2 out of 5 by William from Problems! Just received our sweeper last weekend. Ordered it on Thursday it came on Friday! Had to use a mallet to get the handle together. One of the brackets that holds the bag is missing but we used binder twine to hold it down. But I can't push it on our grass. I'd hoped to be able to pick up dandelion stems/seed heads after mowing but the sweeper will not move! I have to use all my strength (I am old but not that weak). Is something wrong with the right wheel? The left one turns but not the right one. (From behind the handle) Can't rate until we can use it.

After assembling, i noticed the sweeper brushes would only rotate when pulling backwards, and not when pushing forward . This was obviously a factory error. I called agri-fab and explained my problem to Denise. She was very nice and very knowledgeable. She gave me the option to return the product or try to fix it myself. She told me what to look for, and how to do the repair myself. I decided to try it myself. It took 10 minutes .All good now. Big shout out to Denise. This thing is saving me so much time. 5 stars to Denise and the sweeper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from too manufacture defects got this as a gift. Opened the box. Instruction pages were not even in numerical order. The wheel and bolt was off one side. Once we fixed that, we put everything together and it would only allow is to pull it not push it. Called company and they said the manufacturer must have placed the E- rings on backwards. .after close to 6 hours of fighting with it, I called customer service and they said all they can do is send parts not a whole new item. I am not able to use it al all! No customer should have to rebuild an entire system. Their is no support from this company for their faulty product. Will never purchase another item from them nor will I allow my family to go through this.

I didn't even know such a product existed until it showed up in my search for "leaf vacuum". I was pleasantly surprised. I like that I can sweep the leaves off my lawn much quicker than with a leaf blower/vacuum and rake, yet not have to use any electricity or gasoline. I do agree, however, with other reviews that the hopper bag fills up quickly. That's why I'm only giving 4 stars because I think this should be an easy fix. Currently, there is a 10.5" gap between the end of the hopper bag and the inside of the top handle. I think the hopper bag can be made longer, so that the gap is only 2", giving the bag 8.5 more inches for more leaves to fit.

I was happy to find a high quality sweeper that was made in this part of the world! I just received the sweeper today, put it together with ease and took it for a test drive. I have both artificial turf as well as grass and I was super impressed how well this sweeper worked on both! Very nice quality, packaging and easy to read instructions. More money than the Chinese versions but much higher quality. Also very important to keep folks working in the USA/Canada by purchasing locally made product such as this!!!

I emailed for the missing parts, and they sent me only two out the the four bag clips necessary for it to function. Not sure what’s going on with this company. Very poor functioning in the customer service department. I was hoping to get the leaves picked up in the fall before the snow, but it doesn’t look like that will happen. Going to contact Amazon as well to review, and return the product. Too bad, nice concept but not if you can’t use it

Rated 4 out of 5 by Wayne7676 from Good for leaves but not for sweet gum balls I saw a similar product and in the picture the unit was picking sweet gum balls which is what I needed it for. The problem is that the way the brushes turn and with the large gap in the front most of the sweet gum balls and small pine cones just get kicked forward and not picked up. I solved the problem by screwing a small flexible rubber strip to the front. The sweet gum balls slip under the strip and then get picked up. Overall quality of the unit was good and I thought it was easy to put together.

The instructions indicated needing a Philips screwdriver but never needed it however did need a rubber mallet to get the handle bar to fit onto the side bars and for attaching the Palnuts. Tried it out and worked as expected--good amount of leaves being swept up into the bag filling quickly. I know not all would be picked up but what is left is easily picked up with a pass idpf the lawnmower at thevend of the fall season. Seems sturdy enough for multiple uses.

Many people complain that the leaves fly out of the unit, my advise, don't collect when it is windy and don't go too fast. This unit works on the sidewalk as well. A few adjustments, which vary with the height of your grass and you off and running. My suggestions is it would be great to have heavier wheels as it tends to slip. You should rack areas that are close to landscape edging with stone or bricks and if there is a rise in those areas. Works best on flat surface just like described. One last thing, it would be great if there was a zipper on one side for dumping the leaves out into a bag.

It works well and picks up the leaves, twigs, and even the tiny eucalyptus tree seed pods. While it sweeps up those items well, unfortunately, it also throws some of them forward onto and beyond the green. Also, you have to be very careful of the height; it does not transition very well from the smooth putting surface and the longer artificial grass chipping area around the putting surface.

Called Lowe's where I purchased the product, they were no help their answer return and order a new one. I then called Agri-Fab customer service. I gave them the information they asked for and they will be sending the bag. The only problem is that the bag will not be shipped for 5 days and then I should receive it in about 3 days. They informed me that they have a shipping back log. So here I sit and wait. Got the unit assembled and it works great, just no hopper bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kerwooddr from Light and simple Assembly was straightforward and instructions were easy to follow. The only issue was that I was missing one nylon lock nut, part # 43103. Luckily I had one nut in my parts bin that fit. Operation is simple, so long as you set it for the correct height. My only negative comment about the sweeper was that the overall construction was more flimsy than I'd like - a thicker plastic for the housing (part # 44600) would have made this unit feel much more robust and offer a stronger mount point for the handle. The three-piece handle and leg assembly (part #s 44603 and 44595) wobbles too much and I suspect this will not stand up over a season or two of regular use. There aren't too many of these push sweepers on the market, so not too much to choose from.

It took me almost 2 hours to finally get it together.then to find one part didn't have the holes in the upper handle.I called the company and had the part shortly after I called . A couple of days.they are made for light duty not for rough work.

The height has to be exactly right, you need several passes and you need to empty the bag often. It seems to pick up about 80 percent of the leaves. Good on twigs and pinecones too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Frannnie from Complicated instructions and assembly This product is very hard to put together if you are a senior lady on her own, the additional handle extension fitted to align holes only on one side the other side I had to use a hammer to bang it into position. Operation in my yard is not easy does not work well if you have an uneven yard, and I have St Augustine grass which needs to be newly mowed for the best results, it does pick up pine needles however they do get wrapped around the spindle of the brushes, and I had to spend some time removing them. I will continue use this for a short while to see how it works on the oak leaves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JimmyD from Great lawn sweeper I bought this lawn sweeper to pick up the small yellow leaves my basswood tree drops every day. I had no problems with the assembly. It took me a couple of passes on the lawn to get the height adjusted. The closer you have the sweeper brushes into the grass, the harder it was to push. Once I got the height adjusted, the sweeper picked up the basswood leaves with no problems. It also picked up grass clippings, very small twigs and larger leaves from our maple tree. I am very happy with the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Geoff64 from Better than raking! Have used this tool a couple of times and if you get the sweeper fins adjusted just right, it does a great job. It doesn't hold a lot of leaves, so you have to dump it often but it sure beats raking. I just sweep until full and then take the leaves out of the hopper by hand and into a bag. The instructions should be a little more clear on the attachment of the rubber/metal tips on the steel dowels. You should put the steel dowels through the bag before putting on the tips. Also, for tools, you should need two 7/16" open end wrenches and a hammer (for the metal tips). The instructions call for a phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench along with the two 7/16" wrenches. The wife loves watching me use it.

Before we got the sweeper it would take us about 5 to 6 hour rake all our front yard from the leaves produced by our trees every 2 to 3 weeks and we ended with blister in our hand most of the time. With the Sweeper it takes us about an average of 2 hours and no blister. It is fantastic. I would love the next version of this product be collapsible to fit in my small garage and less hard to push. It requires some strength if you are trying to clean up several layers of leaves at once. My husband can do that but I can't. What I ended doing was adjust the sweeper to my strength level and do more rounds around the yard.

The drive pin number 47046 for both sides where just laying in the box. The wheels where not on the shaft and there where no "E" ring for either side to hold the wheels on and no hub cap in the box either. These parts are not on the assembly list so I would think they should have been installed before leaving the factory. Sweeper is of no use if you can push it around the yard to pick up leafs. Terrible quality control letting this product leave the factory without the wheels attached.

At the mid to low range settings the brushes will not turn and sweeper can not be pushed. At the low to mid range settings the leaves fly everywhere except in to the catch bag. The palnuts are impossible to install. Wast of time & money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rich from Just like I remembered As a kid 40 years ago I used my Dad's sweeper all the time in the fall on Long Island. Now I live in Florida with much thicker grass. Every year after raking my 1/2 acre for hours I'd say - I got to see if they still make those sweepers and get one. I finally did this year! It works just as I remembered. After a few passes through the yard I dialed-in the best height adjustments depending upon grass density and thickness. This sweeper does a great job on leaves as well as pine needles. I used to separately rake pine needles while walking with a rake dragging behind to collect to use them for bed mulch. Now the sweeper sweeps them up and i'ts much easier and quicker. Product is plenty sturdy, well made, and easy to put together. I can't wait till more leaves and pine needles fall! Hard to believe I just said that!!??

Rated 3 out of 5 by Old Malachi from The Push Lawn Sweeper Works! My wife got this for me to save my shoulders from repetitive raking motion, instead I get a great leg workout! It does a good job and probably does save time in the long run over raking. I would recommend wearing safety glasses when using the sweeper; grass really flies into the bag. I would not recommend this for a person with grass allergies, however. It really kicks up the grass! Another slight complain: grass clippings concentrate in the center of the bag so they have to be redistributed every couple passes to keep going.

The old sweeper still works but the height adjustment recently became inoperable. The new sweeper arrived missing one brush bracket and clip, so rather than contact customer care we just ordered the inexpensive parts (less than $5). We also found the parts to fix the old lawn sweeper (around $5), which we will repair and hand down to family members. Can't praise this product enough! And we appreciate that it is made in USA!p

There's a bit of a learning curve with the height adjustments but once you figure it out it works really well. Any divots or sunken areas will need you to go back to pick up the leaves if the brush cant reach, and any high spots like tree roots or something my stop the brush. The seam on the bag that wraps around the top support bracket came loose for me though pretty quickly so I'm hoping they'll send me a new one. Definitely a good purchase overall. Even does the sidewalks and street.

Raking the pine needles took way too much time and energy. If adjusted to the correct height, it collects all debris well...leaves, pine needles, etc. The handle bar seems a bit flimsy (would be nice if it was a bit sturdier feeling), but it still works well. We'd buy it again for sure if we had to.

I have a few large trees and I don't like simply cutting them up with my lawn tractor. The sweeper does a fantastic job of picking up the leafs but be aware that it's a bit more work than you would think. The resistance of the brushed to the ground is enough to make you sweat if you are too low.

Questions

I have the 45-02183. Are the brushes supposed to overlap? Also, how tight do the nuts on the hex bolts. I hand tightened and they don't go on very far.

I see that some pictures of this model show a black hopper, and orange one, and red. The black and orange hoppers look like polypropylene tarp like material. But is the red one canvas? I can't tell due to low-res photos. Or are they all polypropylene?

my brand new 26" sweeper goes for a few seconds then the drive wheel lock up. what is going on????

You may have the brushes set too low. For each turn of the wheel the brushes should turn 4 + times. If you have the brushes down too low it will impair the brushes from flipping the lawn debris into the hopper and lock up the wheel.

Just purchased the Agri-Fab 45-02182 sweeper. The brushes appear to be going in the wrong direction ( brush rotates from the bottom up, instead of brushing down). Pushes leaves ahead of the sweeper. Any suggestions???

Thank you for inquiring about Agri-Fab push sweeper. Our sweepers are mainly designed for grass and leaf pick up off the surface of the grass. The brushes can be lowered all the way down to the ground but we do not recommend that. The brushes are made of nylon and will wear off quicker when hitting a hard surface. If there is extra resistance the gearing on the wheel may wear out quicker also.

I'm looking to clean artificial turf, how close can the brushes get to the ground?

We have customers who use the sweeper on artificial turf with mixed feed-back. You can lower the brushes to ground level. It may take more than one pass depending on what you need to sweep up.

Can this push sweeper do a good job picking up cores after aeration? Grass is low cut around 1" currently.

How do you empty the grass out of the bag? Do you tip it forward like a wheelbarrow or does the grass collector bag come out (easily?)

I have the 45-02183. Are the brushes supposed to overlap? Also, how tight do the nuts on the hex bolts. I hand tightened and they don't go on very far.

When will the manual for the 45-02183 be available online? Currently, the most recent manual is the 02182 and not the 02183. Thank you.

I see that some pictures of this model show a black hopper, and orange one, and red. The black and orange hoppers look like polypropylene tarp like material. But is the red one canvas? I can't tell due to low-res photos. Or are they all polypropylene?

when i push the sweeper the brushes do not rotate. the brushes will rotate if i pull it toward me. this is the second one i have received. i returned the first one because it did the same thing. i am following assembly instructions.
